Stevie Smith
Stevie Smith began her dance life at the age of six and eventually became a graduate of Pine Tree Performing Arts Center. While in high school Stevie was a member of the Pine Richland Dance Team where she became the team captain. While competing with Pine Richland Stevie received several individual awards through the National Dance Alliance (NDA) including Top All American Dancer. After high school Stevie went on to LaRoche College. There she became the captain of the dance team. At this time Stevie was also hired as an instructor for NDA. Which lead to her receiving the award for Top Rookie Instructor in 2004.
Stevie then moved to Cleveland to start her professional dance career. She was recruited by the Cleveland Cavaliers to become a member of the professional dance team, the Cavalier Girls. While living in Cleveland, Stevie performed alongside artists such as Bryan McKnight and Destiny Child’s Michelle Williams. She also had the opportunity to perform for events such as Usher’s Teen Leadership conference and the William’s Sisters Tennis Tour and was hired as a featured dancer for Pittsburgh’s own Donnie Iris and the Cruisers music video “Little Black Dress”. Stevie has since moved back to Pittsburgh where she enjoys teaching at Pine Tree since 2008. Stevie now resides in Mars with her husband and dog.
