Blair Starr
Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Blair first fell in love with ballet at the age of five when she began her training. Blair attended summer intensives at both The Kirov Academy and The Joffrey Ballet School. After graduating from high school Blair continued her dance education at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, where she had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of many renowned artists including Vivi Flindt (Royal Danish Ballet), Adam Sklute (Ballet West), Sean Curran (Sean Curran Company), Gerard Charles (Joffrey Ballet), and Bruce Simpson (Louisville Ballet).
Blair has also performed as a guest artist with Kentucky Ballet Theater in their productions of Cinderella and La Fille Mal Guardee. Upon her graduation from UC, Blair began dancing professionally as a member of the Roxey Ballet Company, located in Lambertville, New Jersey. Her favorite roles include The Autumn Fairy from Cinderella, the Spanish Dance from The Nutcracker, and one of the Three Witches in Dracula.
Blair took a brief time off in 2010 to pursue a Master’s degree is School Counseling from Long Island University. She has recently relocated from New York with her husband Curt Starr and is thrilled to be joining the staff at Pine Tree Performing Arts Center and to share her passion for dance with her students.
